The classic one with Bo hi? Or the solid blade? I ahd the Bo Hi one a few years ago. Remarkable hamon, but mine seemed to be a one off. Almost all the other hamon I saw after it were fairly blah.

Either one; I'm assuming they are quenched the same way?

Looks good. Somebody posted some photos of a no-hi on SBG, and the hamon looks fairly similar to the one you posted. Much moreso than the usual Hanwei 'wave'. Maybe there are more of these out there than we think:

Yes, that's the one. But the hamon on that is very boring...hmm.

I wonder if the occurrence of the 'good' hamon has anything to do with it being of the shirasaya option... Perhaps they come from a different batch or production line. Aaron, was yours in shirasaya?

I think it's more of a situation of who might be on yaki-ire at that point in time :-\

I like swords.

No, just mounted. The ashi seems more prevalent on my blade. I like the irregular midare hamon on yours, but the choji-midare hamon on the one I had seems more like something Walter Sorrells would have done. I honestly haven't seen one just like it since.

This is just a quick update regarding the hamon on the Hanwei Shinto that is on closeout at the SBG Store. I got two of them today, and both sported the same kind of hamon; which (to my relief) looks nothing like the hamon in Hanwei's stock photos. It is much nicer, closer to the on Aaron posted:

Furthermore, I just started hybrid polishing one of them. Here are the results:

BEFORE

AFTER

(^kissaki has not been polished, so you can see the contrast even within this one photo.)

Oddly enough, ALL I have done so far is to polish off Hanwei's heavy etch with 600 grit; and already, activity is starting to pop out. Will post more updates as I delve further into the process.

Looking promising so far...
