    John,

The rule of Kumdo you mentioned is exactly the same one that Japanse
Army and Navy taught befire WWII. You might forget that many Koreans,
at that time they were Japanese, became officers (not just soldiers)
including generals in Japanese Army and lead Japanese soldiers.
These Korean Japanese Army officers started to teach kendo in modern
korea. In Korea, there is a law to prohibit to introduce/study
Japanese Culture, therefore they had to fake the history of kendo to
be korean original to practice it in Korea.

The fact is that there is NO tradition of Kumdo or evn Gumdo in
Korean culture. It might be true that it once exsisted, probably 500
years ago, but it is toally lost.

People must know that there is no kumdo activity or even terminology
in North Korea, because they know that South korean kumdo/Gumdo is
a copy of Japanese swardmanship.

story, you will never become martial artist.
