The sword above is an antique Chinese Niu Wei Dao (Ox Tail Saber)
made possibly in the Qing Dynasty. The blade is "sanmei" with a hard
edge-core inserted between two cheeks of patter-welded steel. The sword
evidently saw some use. Originally there were blood-etchings on the
blade, but these are no longer visible due to a partial repolishing.
Fullering is crisp and clean with no wobble or visible defect. The sword
is not a display piece - it is balanced and weighted for war.
